sunshine my.....

Sometimes I read my friends blogs and really I just want to puke. I know that doesn't sound very nice of me, but I get tired of thinking everyone has a life except me. BOOOOO! I am a little cranky considering I have had a miserable few days, scratch that, I mean weeks! Start two weeks ago when I woke up with intense tooth pain and had to have an emergency root canal first thing in the morning. Did I mention that my dental insurance isn't going to cover one red cent? So it is all coming out of pocket. The dentist had to do it in three parts so first part was done that day and all was fine and dandy with no pain. Then he gave me antibiotics that I had to take every six hours. These made me so damn sick!!!! I could barely hold my head straight and I threw up every two hours. You know it is sad when your two year old is rubbing your arms and grabbing wet wipes to wipe your mouth off. I could tell she was very scared of what was coming out of me. So after three incredible horrific days I stopped taking them. It took a full 24 hours for them to get out of my system and for me to feel semi-better. Meanwhile, I am stressed because basically I have eaten nothing for fear of vomit and this poor child inside me is starving! So one day after I am feeling better, I go back to the dentist to have part two done. All seems fine until the next day. The next day my tooth is ultra tender again. Just brushing my teeth brings tears to my eyes. AND the genius me decides that for fear of my tooth getting infected I had better start the satanic antibiotics again. STUPID STUPID! This was yesterday and I only took one at 8am and I am still throwing up right now! I wish I would have had this tooth just pulled. I don't even care anymore. I would rather be a toothless, fat women who can eat whatever she wants then puking and in pain. There is no sunshine in my soul today!!!!

Pride, it's a dirty thing...

I have always had a secret pride for my teeth. My siblings have all had multiple work done on their choppers and I held the title of never even having a cavity. My childhood dentist was my biggest fan buiding up the ego of those pearly whites. Well that was all shattered yesterday. I actually haven't been to the dentist in almost ten years. With no insurance I figured a person who flosses everyday and brushes three times was pretty safe and I would save the money. All looked good in my mirror smiling back at me. About Monday night I had this aching in my tooth that really hurt. Tylenol didn't seem to help and with the pregnancy I can't take much of anything else. It seemed to go away and only hurt when I chewed something hard. Wednesday night I went to bed at 10:30pm and woke up with a blinding pain at 11:00pm. The pain was so intense I couldn't even sit still. It was a million times worse than labor! And the torture lasted all night until I could go to the dentist at 9am on Friday. I didn't even go to bed that night. Well to make the story short I had an emergency root canal Friday morning and now I feel so much better. So much for no cavities..at this rate I will have dentures in a couple years!

Change

I picked this book up at the library today and once I started it I couldn't stop until it was finished. I was excited to read it because I loved Kite Runner. Both books made me cry but most of all they made me think. In the movie, Hotel Rowanda when the man asks the American journalist why the people of America aren't stopping the killing going on the journalist responds that they watch it on the evening news and say how sad and then go back to eating their dinner. There are so many horrible things going on in Countries around us and what have I done to help? I haven't done a single thing. People live through war and for what? To have unclean drinking water, incurable diseases, and nightmares to last their lifetime. A few years ago I worked with the sweetest boy ever. He was from Sudan and some men had broken into his house, killed his parents, raped his sister and cut off his arm. You never saw him without a smile on his face. We lived next to some Iraq refugees and when we moved they cried to me and told me they loved me in their broken English. Of the few English words they knew they would tell Tatiana they loved her and shower her with food and kisses. They gave us Christmas present when they don't even celebrate Christmas. Their kindness floored me.
My point is we don't think something is real until it is in our face. We politely ignore the horrors of others when the only thing that separates us is birth. What if we had been born in their place?
Would we have survived? If you want to do something here it is....donate to the UNrefugees. 10 dollars might mean skipping that weekend restaurant for you and five meals for a little child.
The website is www.UNrefugees.org
Don't go back to eating your dinner...change something for the better

Hurry up Sweet Heaven...

I can't wait for them to build the In and Outs here in Salt Lake so I can get nice and fat. I love In and Out! Chadders just doesn't even do them justice. I think the one is American Fork has already broken ground...but I just can't wait!!!! I know they will be jam packed every second of the day when they are finally open but to tell you the truth I would wait in line for two hours with two screaming babies just to get some of this goodness in my mouth. I think I will have a designated day each week that will be In and Out day. My mouth is watering just thinking about it!!!

Facebook

BTW I joined facebook...so if you have it look me up. Blog on....

This baby is feeling the music

We had our first ultra sound with this little one today. It kind of isn't real until you actually see the baby up on that screen. He/She was going to town kicking and whooping his/her arms and arching his/her back. The doctor was like, "Wow he sure isn't slowing down. He is quite active." George and I just laughed because Tati was super active and anytime there was pressure on my stomach she would kick like crazy! The doctor said we would have the ultra sound for another two months to tell us if it is a boy or girl. I was a little bummed about that because we found out with Tati at 14 weeks. I did that Mid wife thing where they dangle the pencil over your wrist and that said it was a girl. The Chinese calender says it is a boy however...so I guess we will just have to sit tight and see.
Afterwards George and I went to McDonald's for a quick lunch. I sat there kinda of amazed by all the people inside. There were little kids and moms with babies out in the playland, older couples socializing with there walkers next to them, and missionaries getting some lunch. I thought it was cool how about every stage of life was represented in the little McDonald's. Maybe George and I will meet our "lunch group" there when we are in our eighties.
I couldn't stop thinking about the fact that I was having another child. I can't believe I will be a mother of two. It is like getting pregnant and having Tati was a fluke but to actually conceive life again... I can't explain how weird that is for me. I am deeply humbled and amazed.
