Spoiled...

I was expecting a humble Christmas this year. We kinda had agreed we wouldn't spend too much. I was perfectly fine with that. We were so stinkin spoiled though! George got tons of gift his favorite being ROCKBAND which is a blast and we can't wait to have a ROCKBAND party!! I got THREE..count them..THREE giftcards to Old Navy to buy Maternity clothes. The amount when added up was quite ridiculous. I already took advantage of George babysitting while I shopped alone. :) I also got a Slice from Making Memories which I am super excited to use. This thing is awesome. Thanks to all the people who made it so great! We love all the cards and goodies. I love having my friends pictures up and seeing their little families. Happy New Year!!!

Merry Christmas!!

Merry Christmas to all! Sweet Mary who delivered a baby without any pain meds, or even surgical tools in a barn. And the baby who grew up to become King of Kings, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace, but most importantly our Savior. May we remember the true meaning of Christmas and share it with all.

oh BABY

As you can see to the right we are expecting a little one. I am not due till July of next year but really if you see me it is quite obvious. We are very excited! It is a different excitement now that this is our second...I can't quite explain that. We are crossing our fingers for a little boy but if they are even half as cute as this little face then we will be grateful. I feel it is such a great honor that Heavenly Father is letting me raise these kids. I know how hard it is just for some people to have children and I don't take it for granted believe me. I still have some worries about Tati's spotlight being stolen. She has taken the news as well as any 20 month year old by saying baby and pointing to my stomach and giving it kisses. I think she will be a great big sister!

Yummy Yum YUM

One of my favorite dinners is the oriental salad from Applebee's. I wanted to have one so bad that I googled the recipe and got this one. I made it today for lunch and it was a big hit here at home. It tasted pretty darn close. I will just put the dressing recipe because part of the fun is deciding what goes in the salad.

Applebee's Dressing
6 tablespoons honey
3 tablespoons rice wine vinegar
1/2 cup mayo
2 teaspoons grey poupon(anybody?)
1/4 teaspoon sesame oil

makes enough for 2 full plate salads!

The idiot, purple koolaid, and red hair

The Idiot, being me, forgot that I had changed my privacy settings to moderate all comments before they were published WEEKS AGO. I thought why hasn't anyone commented me? I am so uncool..geez. Then I noticed this little button that said 20 comments waiting to be moderated and I clicked on it and I realized... YOu love me you really love me! I may still be uncool but at least I am loved. Anyways as a side note because some asked, Alan, is George's son who passed away from cancer in 1999. He is sealed to us for all eternity which makes him my son. If you are wondering what he looked like well we have a mini girl version at our house named Tatiana. Both of them look like their Daddy who looks just like his Daddy. Pretty strong genes, huh?

Alas, I need some opinions please. I am feeling very old and frumpy these days. DON'T ARGUE, wait...please argue. No seriously, I have realized my looks which I use to value have begun to slip away. I am in need of a major makeover! The fastest way to do that is to change my hair. I would like to do something fun without screaming that I am trying to hard. I have to leave the length or my marriage would be over but I want some layers. Fun, Chunky, piecey. I want to add color so here are some ideas:

What if I dyed my hair all this color red, or just put fun chunks of it in. Would you ever notice with my dark hair?

I really like these layers and the fire red. Obviously I am not going platinum blonde. What do you think? Would this be trying too hard?
Alright well my daughter just ripped up the Questar Gas Bill. Who can blame her I felt like doing the same thing. So I guess I need to go get a grip on the situation before more ripping becomes involved. And I want a nice big glass of purple koolaid that my husband always makes and then complains that I drink the last of. And we are buying a FAKE Christmas tree (fake enthusiasm for fake tree, real excitement if it were a real tree) tonight. Sad the thing will only be up like three weeks but we are always running a little behind. And I need to get a candle that smells like a real tree so I can at least get in the mood. Cheers everyone!

Creepy...

What is your identity worth? Recently I was searching for some friends online to see if they had a blog and I fell across this site called Zabasearch. On it you can search for any person in the US. Naturally I searched myself. I was relieved when I found there was nothing on my name. Then I decided to search my maiden name and I found most of my previous address. I searched my family and found addresses and phone numbers for all of them. I am really creeped out that you can just type in a name and get all this free information on anyone including previous addresses, relatives...and if you pay 50 bucks you can get current addresses, phone numbers, income, background checks and so much more. What happened to privacy? Maybe you should search yourself on there.......

Good Times Good Times....

This has been a great week for us. Here is the run down:

Yesterday was fun and sad all wrapped up in the same day. In the morning we went up to suncrest to get some family pictures. I felt like it was impossible to get one shot. Either George wasn't smiling or Tati was yelling. I don't know how big family manage to take family pictures. It was truly exhausting but I feel like we got a few which you will see on our Christmas cards. Which you won't get if you don't email me your address at Tupoufamily@gmail.com. I need every one's please. If you are on my blog...send it!
Then we went to the Utah/ BYU game. I have never been so excited as when Austin ran 80 yards in the beginning. I have been to so many games but never that excited. Personally I like Utah as well. My friends go there and if I finish school EVER, chances are I will end up there. I have always love BYU too. But as we arrived to the game I saw a girl, who I actually recognized from Crossing wearing a horrible shirt that said profanities that equaled screw BYU. I was so mad. I thought it was so trashy. Anyways from then I REALLY REALLY wanted BYU to win. When they lost I was incredibly sad and can only hold on to the hope of next year. Now my voice is gone and my throat is sore.
Also Friday I went to Twilight which was so CHEESY. It has horrible acting and I thought it was a big let down. Basically it is just a lot of eye blinking from one character to another.
Thursday we went to the Carrie Underwood concert which was AWESOME. I dared George to take off his shirt and wave it around which he did for the entire concert. It was hilarious. Carrie, which those of us close to her like to call her, was so great. She really put on a good concert. You get the feeling she is genuinely a good person.
Well that was most of our week. We had fun!

Wednesday, November 19, 2008

Carrie Underwood here we come!

Tonight we are going to the Carrie Underwood concert. Since this is my second concert some might say I am a pro. But basically, I am just spoiled since my sister treated me to both. We are going to have a blast!!! Thank you Josie for watching our little monster while we are there!

Halloween Baby!

So much fun this Halloween! Here are some pics of all the excitement.

Here Snow White is running wild. She looked so cute.
So much running made the little princess sleepy.

This year was George's first year carving pumkins. (His was the little one. LOL)

I can't resist that smile!
My sister and I went to Witch-a-palooza which was a blast. We decided to make it a yearly deal.
She is like the dark haired Shirley Temple. Now she just needs to learn to act, dance and bring in some money for us. JK

This weekend we are watching my sister's kids in Draper while they are in New York. Tati gets so spoiled with attention by them that she absolutely loves it. The minute we come up the mountain to there house she starts screaming with excitement and kicking her legs and pumping her little fists. She is so lucky to have great cousins who adore her!

Ten Random Thoughts

When Tatiana was born George was so excited carrying her through the hospital halls he asked all the nurses advice for a new father and one nurse replied,"wipe front to back"

Tatiana is obsessed with spanking butts. She will follow me through the whole house spanking me and laughing her head off. Admittedly, she may have gotten that from me since I am known to give a surprise spank from time to time.

Our house has radiant heat in the walls. This is the first time I have ever experienced it and I love it. It heats up way fast and stays after you turn it off.

I have been a crossing guard for a year. This is just random to me. I love it.

I wore a hat almost everyday last week. Thanks to Burlington Coat Factory I bought a bunch of cute ones for all about five bucks a pop.

I have never met George's parents in real life. In fact, I have only met one sister who is the only one who lives in America. Only phone calls and emails. Thank goodness for technology.

George HATED football when we first met. He referred to it as "lazy man's footy". I thought it was nice since I didn't adore football. Then my family brainwashed him and now it is at the top of his obsession list.

One of my hobbies is creating playlists with new music but I never have the patience to actually listen to a full song.

I played soccer my whole life through high school. I played on a traveling competitive teams and for schools. I haven't played in TEN YEARS! sad...

I can't drink out of the same cup as anyone. ANYONE. not George, Tati or anyone. YUCK!

A NEW TODAY

I realized yesterday would be a day that would be remembered in my children's textbooks and their children's. I wanted to remember exactly how I felt when they announced Barack Obama would be the next president of the United States of America. There are two reasons to celebrate Obama as president.
First,I am excited to have Obama as the next president because I think he is a good man. I think he values families and has similar beliefs as I. I think he wants to change America for the better. I think he will initiate changes that have been long over due. I believe he will help the economy, get health care together, and bring our soldiers home. Mostly, I belief that Obama loves America and will do what he thinks is best for our country, which is all we can ask from a president.
Second, I am proud to live in a country that has forgiven it's past. I am proud to have an African American president. Not so long ago, perhaps in my mother's lifetime, I could have never married my husband. Us being two different races would have made togetherness impossible. I was lucky to grow up in an area of California where I never witnessed racism. I thought it only existed in the most southern parts of Alabama or Kentucky or some extreme confederate state. As I grew up and lived in different parts of the country I realized racism is alive and well through out all parts of the world. As my daughter was born I worried about any trials she would go through because of being what I like to call a "mixed plate". I notice the looks I sometimes get when I am with my husband and I hope those looks are gone by the time by daughter can notice them. I am filled with patriotism to have the figure head of the country as a symbol that anything is possible and America is the place dreams come true.
God bless Barack Obama and how he commands this country!
God bless the United States of America!

polygamists wearing flare jeans...

Okay I watch the MOST interesting news tonight. All of you who caught it know what I am talking about. It was about polygamist cave dwellers. Their houses were so nice! And they seemed so cool I almost drove out there and asked if I could move in. okay not really but I am obsessed with polygamists so this took it to a next level. Read about it at www.kutv.com . It was awesome.

Picture Tag

Sara tagged me so here it is. It is suppose to be the 4th picture in the 4th folder if I understand right. It is a picture of George on our honeymoon in Oregon. RAndOm! I tag JOSIE (cpr..cpr..cpr..for the blog) and LAURIE.

blog etiquette

What would be the correct etiquette on adding someone to your blog? Do you ask them? Do you comment them and tell them? If they don't add you back do you delete them? I am not quite sure about this. I think I will just add and delete at will so don't be offended, ok?

I quit..the end

Well my short lived career at Bath and Body works has come to an end. I tried as previously posted, to quit and it didn't quite work. But after much coercing, some might say pressuring, by my husband and family I called it all to an end on Saturday. I am sure there are some feelings of hate towards me now. But oh well you have to do what is best for you. And with George's new job and the fact that Bath and Body tends to pile on my hours and make me feel guilty about not working enough this was best for me! I have way too much on my plate right now. I am still only 60% unpacked for heaven's sakes! I will just have to avoid shopping at Fashion Place mall for the next year, no big deal.:)
Also, don't tell my husband (or your husband if you are Josie, Amber, or Kim) but I have misplaced my wedding ring since we moved. PRAY PRAY PRAY FOR ME! I am still hoping it shows up in my unpacked boxes. PLEASE!!! I am hoping my husband doesn't decide now to start reading our blogs or I am screwed..........
Let's see in other news I forgot to pay my speeding ticket that I got in Oregon a few months back and almost had my license suspended. Luckily I called and got it all taken care of before they hauled me off in handcuffs in front of my weeping child.
As you can see I am a rebel now. I don't throw caution to the wind. I have no fear of my boss, my husband (what? I am going to tell him eventually) or even the good ol' POPO. This is a whole new Melissa. A jobless, ring less, almost jailed one but nevertheless new.

Alright I am going to let you in on a little secret that only those who are extrememly close to my heart know. I love Dwayne "the dog" Chappman. There is no other show that brings a smile to my face and butterflies in my stomach like Dog the Bounty Hunter. For years I contemplated pick up my stuff and moving back to Hawaii and going to his office everday until he would hire me. I love his attitude. I love his wife Beth how she dresses like a hooch and totally pulls it off. Don't judge if you haven't seen it because I guarantee that just one episode will have you hooked. I think I would make an awesome bounty hunter. Seriously I had always hoped to give birth to a gang of boys who would run the family bounty hunting business with me. I am still waiting for that! I think we all need to kick a little ass (that's right I said it) every once in awhile. Dog, you have made your mistakes but I love you to death!!!!
Here are a few things I really want for my birthday if my husband asks:

Picture recaps of last two months

Finally some recent pictures! Sorry half of them are sideways. That is just how it goes these days. Still unpacking...story of my freakin life. I gave my two weeks to Bath and Body but wouldn't let me so now I am just going to work one day a week which is cool with me. I am excited to hang out with my little rag rat more. Halloween is approaching! I am going to Witchapalooza on Thursday which I am soooo excited for. More pics of that to come...

These pics are from when my poor baby burned herself about two months ago. So SAD!!!

Yes we are that cheesy that we wore matching outfits to the BYU game. Don't pretend like you wouldn't do it!

Just goes to show "dressing up" is just inside you. She has always had a purse for as long as I can remember and now she has shoes and the whole get up thanks to the local dollar store.

Okay I entered this picture into the GAP contest. So many people told me to so I just did it. I feel a little stupid because I mean really I am sure there are a gazillion cute kids entering. I feel mixed about it....

Mommy's feet hurt

I think blogs are so boring when there are no accompanying pictures but alas, my connector is no where to be found! Right this second Tati is running through the house yelling MOMMY at the top of her lungs. She changed from MAMA to MOMMY about three weeks ago and I just love it. She puts all her emphasise on the EEEE at the end.
Well, if you know me you know I am obsessed with Halloween. More than likely because my birthday is the day before. I have always looked forward to this time of year with excitement. I have always loved it better than Christmas time. I plan my costume months in advance. Anyways this year I have had trouble getting my husband into it. So if you have any ideas to make it fun for a grumpy Australian let me know!
Slowly, slowly, slowly we are getting unpacked. It is just so hard with work. There is a big probability that I will quit work. It was fun while it lasted but it is too many hours and I miss my family!George wants me to quit like yesterday so we will see. I have to make a decision in the next few days.
Well friends and family I hope you are having a good week and if not cheer up it is almost the weekend!

WE MOVED

Well we finally moved! Now the real chaos begins because it is gonna take forever to unpack everything. I can't find a dang thing and it makes life a lot harder. Especially because I am so disorganized to begin with. Top it off with just getting directTV installed and that makes it so easy to procrastinate. I feel like I am working a lot lately too which doesn't help. OH WELL...that is the end of my pity party. And now back to unpacking...

Nature at it's finest

Here's some pictures I hijacked off JoJo's page of when we went up little Cottonwood canyon two sundays ago. We love the Glenns!!!

I can't find my connecter thingie (I'm sure that is the technical term) that connects the computer to my camera to download pictures. BUMMER! I have lots of new pictures but no way to put them on here.
We are in the middle of moving and should be done by this weekend. Fingers crossed! It is great that we are staying in the same ward. We love the Millstream ward and all the people in it.
George has been slaving away redoing the duplex we are moving into. He refinished the wood floors, painted the whole house and is regrouting the bathroom. Poor guy. He is amazing and I am so glad I have a husband who can do anything! Someday, hopefully in the next two years, we are going to buy a house and he will be able to do whatever he wants to remodel it. George is basically a gold mine.
I have been working around 30 hours each week and it keeps me pretty busy along with running around with Tati. George is going to FedEx fulltime at least until he is finished real estate school. He works at night so we have been pretty lucky not having to have anyone watch Tati. I can tell that she misses having both of us around because if we are all together she grins ear to ear the whole time. Our life is a little Chaotic right now!

Warning...the follow contains politics....

I just have to do my little rant on how ANNOYING I find Sarah Palin. I watched her interview with Charles Gibson tonight and the women has no idea on current Bush policies and Gibson had to repeat his questions numerous times becuase she couldn't give a straight answer. Gibson had to educate her on the Bush admentment. HELLO? Her answers sounded like practiced pagent answers. McCain must think that I am an idiot if he thinks I am going to vote for him just because he put a women on his ticket. I am waiting for the RIGHT woman and Palin couldn't be farther from that. In the end you have to vote for person who will make a better difference in your life and for us that is Obama. You would understand that if you had to pay THOUSANDS of dollars for your daughters emergency bills like us because we can't afford insurance.

Our Miracle

Tonight I have to publicly thank my Heavenly Father. We spent most the day today in the hospital with Tatiana. This morning while I ran to the store, George was boiling some water and Tatiana grabbed the handle and the water came pouring all over her. She received second degree burns all over her chest and arm. We immediately took her to the hospital. She had blisters all over her body and it was so hard to hold my little baby and not sob at loud while her big brown eyes were watching me. She was such a good girl. She didn't cry the whole time even though I know she must have been in a lot of pain. We have to take her to the burn unit tommorrow and for the next couple of days but the say it will heal fine and there won't be any scares. I am so grateful that her little face wasn't hurt and I know Heavenly Father protected her. I am grateful that the Lord has allowed me to raise such a wonderful spirit. She is a constant joy in our lives and I think she is amazing and a miracle.
p.s. Tomorrow is George's birthday so if you see him wish him a happy one. Love you Honey!

On this unusual rainy day I thought I would take a look back at some of the old pictures. It seemed only right with the rain falling outside, under a blanket and eating popcorn.Ohhh sweet memories...

My new job at Bath and Body works is fun and I really like it. It is nice to have something in my life that is just mine. I enjoy the peeps I work with. I think it is going to work out really well.
If you can't tell I have done a little make over on my blog here. I made a new playlist playing all the songs I am listening too right now. Brett Dennen is my favorite. Listen to all the songs..I bet you will like them. Enjoy!

Workin 9 to 5

Well, starting tomorrow I am a working woman again. It has been over two years since I have worked! I am working 25 hours a week at Bath and Body as a LEAD(not quite sure what that means yet.). We could really use the moola right now. I have had mixed feelings about this. OKAY actually I have been a substitute crossing guard this past year and I will still continue to do that but that is hardly work. With working comes the stress of finding someone to watch Tati when George and I are both working and saying goodbye to her. I, however, am actually excited to get back in it again. I worked since I was fifteen so I was growing restless. I guess ask me in a few months what I think then.
We have also decided to wait on having the next baby for likely three to six more months. We are going to wait until insurance has kicked in. I also have mixed feelings about this. But hopefully I can loose twenty pounds before I get pregnant again. Maybe working will make that easier to get back into a routine of working out. Anybody out there want to join me on weight loss and post on our blogs let me know. It is always easier to do it with other people.
George is still thinking about the army reserves as well as real estate school. He is still working full time security and has started FedEx from 2am -7am. I just know he is going to burn himself out. I know we aren't going to see each other very much anymore so we will have to make an effort to have quality time and lots of dates.
I AM SOO SOO HAPPY TO ANNOUNCE THAT FALL IS COMING! If you know me you know fall is my season. Halloween is the time I wait for all year. I already have my costume picked out. I'm not telling... you will have to be surprised. It's going to be great. I love the weather in fall, the colors and the smells. This fall is going to be the best ever I have decided. I want to do lots of corn mazes, haunted houses and hanging out with our friends. Just thinking about it makes me excited!
That is the update on the Tupou Family for now. But, I leave you with a question. I have not yet decided who I am going to vote for this election. Have you decided? Do you have firm answers from that candidate on your questions? If you feel impressed to share those with me email me Tupoufamily@gmail.

No kids..hip hip hooray!

Yeah I got to go shopping at the outlets in Park City with some good friends. It was a lot of fun taking my time cruising the stores without hearing MAMA MAMA MAMA. The time went by really fast though. Before we knew it it was six pm. It was Kim and Jamie's six year reunion so I won't be too mad at him for taking this AWESOME picture of us with my eyes closed. AWESOME!

Dinosour and more..

Last week, our ward had a mommy and me play date at the Dinosaur musuem at Thanksgiving Point. Jos and I were a little late so it turned out to just be us and our little munchkins. We had fun.

I'm so lonely...

George leaves in about an hour for the Portland for the weekend. He has a rugby games going on out there. SAD! That leaves me and little Tats alone until late sunday night. What oh what are we gonna do? This may be just a forshadowing of the future because if you don't know George has been seriously considering joining the army for sometime now. I am PRAYING big time that he finds a better job in the next week and he doesn't have to sign up. I would hate for him to be deployed and live away for a year or longer. Or worse be dismembered or killed. But I can't really think about that right now. I so am not an army wife....

Friends, Idol, and the Beach

Okay this is going to be a long one but a GOOD one. I have a few things to post about.

First, I am so happy my dear friend Jo came home from her mission. It was so great to have my best friends in the whole world be here at the same time. There is something great about having best friends when you are single and then getting married and having kids and still being best friends. It overwelmed me to see how much love they showed Tati and how much she adored her favorite "nenas". I had always dreamed of us getting married, having kids, and growing old together on our own next door porches. I love these girls like family and just thinking about them puts a smile on my face.
By the way, Jo's homecoming diner was the best diner I have ever had! Each table had around 10 pigs and there was crab, Octopus, fish, and so much food. It may have been the happiest I have ever been eating that great stuff!!!

Second, I lucked out and went to the American Idol Concert. It was my first actual concert. Can you believe that? My sister's family all went and they ended up having a spare ticket. It always pays to be the youngest...because I got to go!! WOOHOO. I yelled like a love stuck teen for Michael John and clapped my hardest for David Archuleta. It was fun!

Third, Tati and I made the LONG drive with my sister and her kids to Vancouver, Washington to visit my brother and his family. We had a lot of fun but it wore me out! I got a taste of what being a single mother is like and I HATED IT!! We missed George so much! We also crossed the bridge and went to see George's sister Lyn. It was great to see her and Tati adores her. She spoiles Tati with Nike shoes everytime we see her and the count it up to 12!!!( More Nike shoes than I have ever owned in my life!!!) We also went with my family out to the Oregon Coast at Cannon Beach where George and I had our Honeymoon. I was sad to be there without him. It was Tati's first time at the ocean and she couldn't stop eating the sand. I thought she would learn and get tired of it but she didn't and had sandy poop for days(yuck). We had a good time but we were happy to come home to our Georgie.

Now that wasn't too long a post was it? Hope you enjoyed it....
