A NEW TODAY

I realized yesterday would be a day that would be remembered in my children's textbooks and their children's. I wanted to remember exactly how I felt when they announced Barack Obama would be the next president of the United States of America. There are two reasons to celebrate Obama as president.
First,I am excited to have Obama as the next president because I think he is a good man. I think he values families and has similar beliefs as I. I think he wants to change America for the better. I think he will initiate changes that have been long over due. I believe he will help the economy, get health care together, and bring our soldiers home. Mostly, I belief that Obama loves America and will do what he thinks is best for our country, which is all we can ask from a president.
Second, I am proud to live in a country that has forgiven it's past. I am proud to have an African American president. Not so long ago, perhaps in my mother's lifetime, I could have never married my husband. Us being two different races would have made togetherness impossible. I was lucky to grow up in an area of California where I never witnessed racism. I thought it only existed in the most southern parts of Alabama or Kentucky or some extreme confederate state. As I grew up and lived in different parts of the country I realized racism is alive and well through out all parts of the world. As my daughter was born I worried about any trials she would go through because of being what I like to call a "mixed plate". I notice the looks I sometimes get when I am with my husband and I hope those looks are gone by the time by daughter can notice them. I am filled with patriotism to have the figure head of the country as a symbol that anything is possible and America is the place dreams come true.
God bless Barack Obama and how he commands this country!
God bless the United States of America!

polygamists wearing flare jeans...

Okay I watch the MOST interesting news tonight. All of you who caught it know what I am talking about. It was about polygamist cave dwellers. Their houses were so nice! And they seemed so cool I almost drove out there and asked if I could move in. okay not really but I am obsessed with polygamists so this took it to a next level. Read about it at www.kutv.com . It was awesome.

blog etiquette

What would be the correct etiquette on adding someone to your blog? Do you ask them? Do you comment them and tell them? If they don't add you back do you delete them? I am not quite sure about this. I think I will just add and delete at will so don't be offended, ok?

I quit..the end

Well my short lived career at Bath and Body works has come to an end. I tried as previously posted, to quit and it didn't quite work. But after much coercing, some might say pressuring, by my husband and family I called it all to an end on Saturday. I am sure there are some feelings of hate towards me now. But oh well you have to do what is best for you. And with George's new job and the fact that Bath and Body tends to pile on my hours and make me feel guilty about not working enough this was best for me! I have way too much on my plate right now. I am still only 60% unpacked for heaven's sakes! I will just have to avoid shopping at Fashion Place mall for the next year, no big deal.:)
Also, don't tell my husband (or your husband if you are Josie, Amber, or Kim) but I have misplaced my wedding ring since we moved. PRAY PRAY PRAY FOR ME! I am still hoping it shows up in my unpacked boxes. PLEASE!!! I am hoping my husband doesn't decide now to start reading our blogs or I am screwed..........
Let's see in other news I forgot to pay my speeding ticket that I got in Oregon a few months back and almost had my license suspended. Luckily I called and got it all taken care of before they hauled me off in handcuffs in front of my weeping child.
As you can see I am a rebel now. I don't throw caution to the wind. I have no fear of my boss, my husband (what? I am going to tell him eventually) or even the good ol' POPO. This is a whole new Melissa. A jobless, ring less, almost jailed one but nevertheless new.

Alright I am going to let you in on a little secret that only those who are extrememly close to my heart know. I love Dwayne "the dog" Chappman. There is no other show that brings a smile to my face and butterflies in my stomach like Dog the Bounty Hunter. For years I contemplated pick up my stuff and moving back to Hawaii and going to his office everday until he would hire me. I love his attitude. I love his wife Beth how she dresses like a hooch and totally pulls it off. Don't judge if you haven't seen it because I guarantee that just one episode will have you hooked. I think I would make an awesome bounty hunter. Seriously I had always hoped to give birth to a gang of boys who would run the family bounty hunting business with me. I am still waiting for that! I think we all need to kick a little ass (that's right I said it) every once in awhile. Dog, you have made your mistakes but I love you to death!!!!
Here are a few things I really want for my birthday if my husband asks:

Picture recaps of last two months

Finally some recent pictures! Sorry half of them are sideways. That is just how it goes these days. Still unpacking...story of my freakin life. I gave my two weeks to Bath and Body but wouldn't let me so now I am just going to work one day a week which is cool with me. I am excited to hang out with my little rag rat more. Halloween is approaching! I am going to Witchapalooza on Thursday which I am soooo excited for. More pics of that to come...

These pics are from when my poor baby burned herself about two months ago. So SAD!!!

Yes we are that cheesy that we wore matching outfits to the BYU game. Don't pretend like you wouldn't do it!

Just goes to show "dressing up" is just inside you. She has always had a purse for as long as I can remember and now she has shoes and the whole get up thanks to the local dollar store.

Okay I entered this picture into the GAP contest. So many people told me to so I just did it. I feel a little stupid because I mean really I am sure there are a gazillion cute kids entering. I feel mixed about it....
