Cheese Fries and Cupcakes

Tati had a great birthday yesterday! It was filled with family, food and presents. What more could a one year old ask for? Here are some pictures of her enjoying her birthday:

We started a tradition of getting a new pair of pajamas the night before ur birthday. Then on the moring of her birthday we walked into her room singing Happy Birthday and video taping the whole thing.

We went to her cousin Joseph's baseball game and she crawled around pretending to be a little doggy.

Her favorite food in the whole world CHEESE FRIES. She got her own order and I was amazed at how much she ate. Training Table rules!

Aunt Lisa made cupcakes for her with the best frosting ever and she ate TWO whole cupcakes by herself. She loved it!

Her cousins and Aunt and Uncle got her this desk which she is now obsessed with. It plays music and tells stories. I couldn't get her butt out of it. She got this first which made her not even want to unwrap mommy and daddy's gifts. This morning she was so happy to see it again and I had to force her to get out of it and get something to eat. Basically, she made out like a bandit.
OH TO BE ONE AGAIN!

One year already...

Oh my goodness my sweet baby is going to be one on Tuesday! Time has gone by in major warped speed. I think life goes extra fast once u have kids and u just want it to slow down a little. We are just gearing up for the big party on Saturday. Hopefully I can get everything done before Saturday morning. Chances are I won't though. We are going to roast two pigs for the occasion! We are doing it in true polynesian first birthday style. Well maybe not as big as some people who rent out halls and have dances and do all these crazy things but I think this may be her biggest party for a long, long, time. So hopefully we will see u all there? right?
I am so giddy about this weather. I swear the sun makes me just tingle inside. I never want it to be cold again. (ask me when it is in the middle of summer and my swamp cooler is broken and my answer will be different!) It is so fun to take Tatiana to the park or just go for a walk. Since most days we don't have a car we have actually walked a ton these past two weeks.
I am also excited because we might go to Moab at the end of next month. I have never been! And George's work is going to pay for our hotel. YEAH!! If anyone has been there let me know the fun things to do keeping in mind we have a toyota camry not a jeep.
Well hopefully I make it through this week. Happy Birthday my precious beautiful daughter Tatiana Lundy Tupou!

It has been so much fun seeing more of George this weekend. He didn't have to work on Saturday night or Sunday so we got to spend some time with our wonderful husband and "dada". After being constantly gone these past two weeks I feel like I haven't seen him at all. We went to see Vantage Point last night with some of our good friends from Australia that live in Provo and they have a girl a couple months older that Tati. Both babies weren't having it. Tati was talking through the whole movie so we spent most of the time watching from the isle by the door. From what I saw I liked that movie a lot though. It was a great action movie. Then today, we got to have George through all of church and later we are going to go to Temple Square to take some pictures by the flowers over there. This picture is of George when we were on our honeymoon and there was an huge bath tub in our bathroom. It makes me laugh everytime I see it.

We love the Prophet!

Well there is no stopping my daughter now. She is all over the place in her new walker. Her new found freedom is driving me crazy. Thank goodness I live in a tiny place otherwise I would have lost her many times over. I just love these pink crocs she is wearing. How come everything is cuter when it is tiny. Even fat right? We just love chubby legs on babies...but when mommy has chubby legs not so cute.

It is quite funny to see her running around everywhere thinking she is racing someone.
She likes to wave to her fans as she goes past. I don't know what she would do if she wasn't always the center of attention?

Just look at that chubbiness! This is Tati doing "so big" which is her new trick.
Lately I have been wondering how she will feel if we have another baby. George would have had a baby nine months after she was born if he had his way. I am a little more hesitant. I want to loose the weight, have my own body for awhile and not change two diapers all the time. I also am so concerned that Tatiana will be sad not being the center of attention anymore. She is so spoiled by my sister and all different family members and her cousins give her their complete attention what will happen if another one comes along? Will her little world be rocked? It makes me sad for her already. On the other hand I want her to have siblings that are close in age to help her through school and life. well I guess we will cross that bridge when we get to the river.
We are glad to listen to the conference today and hear from our new prophet who we love so much! He is such a great speaker and even as a kid I could listen to him without growing restless. We love u President Monson!!!!

Just another Manic Monday....yeah yeah

Well it is that beautiful time of the week again when we can start fresh and try to get everything done. The Tupou family had a good weekend. George worked most of the weekend but we did find time to go to Outback Steakhouse. He was really excited to have some food from his native Australia. When we got there we were very disappointed. It was too expensive and the food was just okay. Our server was the worst I have ever had. Poor Georgie thought he was going to have a taste of home and was very bummed!
BREAKING NEWS: Tatiana is finally getting her first tooth! Thank goodness! At eleven months it is about time. Poor girl has to gum everything to death. She won't even bother eating baby food anymore she just wants exactly what everyone else is eating and if hers looks different she will chuck it on the floor. I know I am partial but she really is an angel. Even though u can tell her mouth hurts her, she is still all smiles and laughs. Her first birthday is coming up quick and it is so hard to believe. I mean I still have my baby fat how can she be one already? I am pretty sure she will be walking on her own by then (cross ur fingers...I can't carry her 30lbs around much longer without my back breaking!).
Any family and friends who are reading this and don't have a blog I would highly encourage u to make one! I think this is a great idea and would like everyone I know to have one so I can read theirs everyday. This is better than talking on the phone because if u are boring I can just skip to the end. :)

Here are just a few recent pictures of the family.

March 29, 2008

Here goes my attempt to be a blogger. I think this is a great idea for family and friends to see updated pictures and info of our little family. Here is the rundown so far of us:
We are living in Salt Lake City after moving here a year ago from Tigard, OR. I am so happy to be back to Utah! I remember being one of those people who complained about Utah but once I moved away I saw just how much I really loved it. We live in a small duplex in a great neighborhood. We love our ward and all the friends we have made.
George is going to start school soon (hopefully by Aug.). He is starting from scratch at 35 years old but is up for the challenge. He is currently working 60+ hours a week for Salt Lake General Contracters and Davis Security. He received his social security number and we are almost all done with his interviews for residency in America. After much time and TONS of money we are so glad to almost be done with it. He is looking forward to rugby season starting again and playing with his friends.
Tatiana is eleven months old today! She went from being completely immobile at ten months to making me chase her around the house trying to keep everything out of her mouth. I am pretty sure she weighs a grand total of 30 pounds which definitely makes her a heavyweight champion. She stands and pulls herself up all the time but doesn't quite trust herself on her own to walk. I will be glad to not carry her around when she can walk. She truly is a pleasant baby and I am so grateful for all the sheer joy she brings in our lives. What was our family like before her?
I (Mel) am still figuring out the whole mother/wife thing. Someday I might be just fabulous at it but for now I am still working on it. I am a substitute crossing guard which is a lot of fun. Having only one car, I am stranded a lot of the time at home. I can't wait until we buy a second car and I get my freedom back! I am debating on going to hair school. It depends on money and time. We will see how that goes. Someday I need to go back and finish my degree. But for now it is poopie diapers and happy smiles all day.
Life is grand and we just live in it!
