Today was my last day working as a crossing guard for Crestview Elementary and it did not come without tears. I have grown to love these kids so much! Everyday, as I would drive to work I would think, I am so lucky to have this job. The kids say the nicest things to me and today was filled with hugs and even a few tears from them. I brought candy for them and sadly told them that they would have a new crossing guard. They all wanted to know where I was moving to and if it was close. Lots of them told me I was their favorite. It is so sad looking at those little faces and pretty much letting them know I may never see them again. I have watched kids graduate to junior high, younger siblings start kindergarten, braces, glasses, being beat up by bullies, kids passing out, kids scared and running to me for safety, being sick, falls, telling them not to swear, new bikes and so much more. I also have so many "waver friends" who never fail to wave to me from their car as they pass by. I can tell the time by what kids and cars have passed by. There are two boys that I just love that are brothers. I know their home life is pretty rocky and when I first met them they were trying so hard to act tough. I kept thinking what makes an elementary kid think he has to be perceived as tough? I would compliment them on something everyday and tell them to have a great day at school. Pretty soon I was hearing about girlfriends, new clothes and what they were doing each weekend. As I said goodbye to them today they were very quiet and I saw both of their eyes water up. I thought what if I am the only one who wishes them a good day every morning? Who will do it now? I just cried thinking I won't know how these kid's lives turn out. I am so grateful for the opportunity to know each one of them.
When I was in second grade I had a school yard duty named "Rocky". He was an elderly man and he always had candy in his pockets for me. My friends and I would race out to him and sometimes spend the entire recess listening about his wife or stories from when he was young. He was the grandpa I never had. I remember his hands were wrinkly and stubby and he had lost almost all his hair but his hug was the softest thing ever and he always made me feel special. I know this is a little melo dramatic for being the person who crosses the kids across the street but I hope I left a little "Rockiness" with them. Most of all I hope they know I cared.
P.S. I am going to be a home owner in less than two hours. Can I hear a WOO WOO?

Wii like to party

I kept thinking that I had a million things to blog about but now that I am actually doing it I forget.:0 Here is the rundown of what has happened as of lately:
I won a Wii and Wii fit from Fresh Values (Albertson's)!! I have never won anything! I only entered once and was picked out of like 500 entries. I am so excited to set it up once we have moved. Apparently my poster is up in the store and I am way too scared to go look at it. I looked like death when I picked up my prize. I hope they take it down soon!
I had to call the Sherriff yesterday because some of my kids I cross came running to me, crying and telling me they saw a women with a gun outside of the school. The place was swarmed with cops and I was yelling to the kids to run home as fast as they could. Turns out it was a fake gun for a play. They are not allowed to bring fake guns either so it really ticks my off that some adult was so stupid to bring it and carry it around. Those kids where so scared. They thought they were going to get shot. I haven't stopped thinking about it. What if it had been a real gun?
We close at the end of this month! I can't wait...we have our walk through tomorrow. I lay in bed and think about how I am going to decorate. Very Very exciting!
Alilia has started jabbering away. She says Mama and Dada all the time. I was laughing so hard because when I put her to bed last night she was yelling, "Dada, Dada!" She already knows he is the softy and will get her out of bed. She wasn't even crying, just yelling with force. What can I say? We have three strong headed girls in our house.
Tatiana is 90% potty trained. Can I get a HIP HIP HOORAY? I am so tired of spending money on pull ups. I am so pround of my big girl!
I know there is more..but I guess I will just have to post more later...tata...

Things I'm gonna miss...
In less than a month we will be moving! As exciting as that is there is also so much I will miss about living in Millcreek:
All my friends living within a 2 mile radias
impromtu late night movies with the girls
girls night
Our ward- we have been in it since Tati was 4 months old, it is basically all she has ever known
three hour playgroup for Tati on Wed during which I lunch with friends
our great neighbors on both sides
my WONDERFUL AWESOME job. I love my kiddos that I cross
Some things I am looking forward to
going from 800 sqft to 2500 sqft
a fenced in backyard for the kiddos to go crazy
having an office/ craft room
brand new....did I mention brand new, never been lived in?
meeting new people
decorating for the first time. Like actually buying stuff
living in a city that still feels like the country. It is dead quiet at night and I love it.
I am sensing some, well I don't know what, from my friends. I know it is sad that we won't be within walking distance but can't we still be friends? It seriously isn't that far!!!! We are happy and I hope you can be happy for us. I hope you visit and hang out with us just as often. This is not good bye at all. At least not to me, hopefully not to you.

Hair and there
Dear Friends,Well I am officially starting hair school this March. I am going to night school so it will take two years but I have to admit I am so excited!! I should have done it so long ago as many of you know. I always wanted to but I was afraid of the stigma that came with being a UTAH HAIR GIRL. No offense to anyone. Now here I am, mother of two, 28 and just starting. I still think I am gonna rock. We all have talents and I think this is one for me. So many exciting things happening to our family. I can hardly keep my excitement in! Please let me know if you would like to book your appointment two years in advance. I have a feeling it might fill up fast...:)
Love,
ME

The Second Time Around
Okay here goes round two folks. We are under contract for a townhouse in Saratoga Springs! After much searching in every city we actually decided we love Saratoga Springs. The townhouse is actually a lot bigger than any of the houses we were looking at. It is 2500 sft so we have room to grow. I love the fact that it is brand new and never been lived in. I've never even owned a new car! I am in love with it and lay in bed dreaming about when we actually move in. We are scheduled to close Feb.12. Here's to hoping it actually works this time!!
P.S. Dear Millcreek friends, You know I love you and if you love me the 28 minute drive won't be a big deal! I'm not dying...just relocating:)
